So I lied about posting more often. I’ve been busy with school and just started up a new blog that everyone should check out. It’s called Material Sounds.

Anyways, this is our first motion graphics project for school. I spent an ungodly amount of time on this and I feel like I need to spend even more. But alas, we’ve moved on. I hope everyone enjoys!

More new work coming within the next few months!

Take a small break from the hustle and bustle of your day to check out this peaceful video from Team Ghost AKA Nicholas Fromageau, formerly of M83.

A hauntingly beautiful music video directed by Inti Calfat for Scala & Kilacny Brothers’ take on the Kings of Leon song “Use Somebody”.

This video almost brought me to tears. I might just be a wimp though. Decide for yourself.

Newest video by POGO. Yet another beautiful mash-up of Disney movies.

Great video for El Guincho’s “Bombay” off Pop Negro

New video for Is Tropical’s song, The Greeks.

Is Tropical has been creating quite a stir lately, and from the few songs I’ve listened by them they seem to be able to back up the hype around them.

Anyways this video is both cute and crazy. Check it out.

This album is so catchy!

I love every artist on the Raster Noton lineup and with good reason too. Raster Noton really focuses on bringing all aspects of music, art and design together into neat little packages. Above is the video for Kanding Ray’s “OR” taken from his upcoming album of the same name.

Royal Canoe with “Nightcrawlin” this song rocks.

Porter was a great band from Guadalajara, Mexico. I don’t know why I stopped listening to them, but I definitely need to find their album again.

Hauschka is one of my favorite pianists. He uses a piano playing technique called the “prepared piano” in which one places several objects on top of the strings to affect the sound of the notes when played.

His new album titled Salon des Amateurs was released in the US April 12 and it definitely shows Volker Bertlemann’s (AKA Hauschka) step away from just solo piano and incorporating what seems to be electronic sounds into his performance. Being familiar with Hauschka’s work it would not surprise me if the new sounds were somehow also incorporated into his piano. Maybe MIDI triggers on his strings?

Anyways, I have posted a session he filmed with NPR back when he released Small Pieces. The above video is a completely improvised piece, which clearly demonstrates his proficiency in the art of the prepared piano.

Enjoy.
